MJ King is an emerging artist and began exhibiting her paintings and drawings in 2011. King’s work has been shown in Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina, Minnesota, and throughout Ohio. She was the recipient of the Naomi Winston Scholarship in Art in 2013 and the Frederick and Priscilla Schwier SACI Award in 2012. King has worked as a Gallery Assistant for the Dorothy Uber Bryan and Willard Wankleman Galleries at Bowling Green State University and the Ohio State Fair Cox Fine Arts Center Gallery in Columbus, Ohio.

MJ King was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and received her Bachelors of Fine Art at Bowling Green State University. She also studied at Studio Art Center International (SACI) in Florence, Italy during the summer of 2012. In early 2014, King attended The League Residency at Vytacil in Sparkill, New York and in June of 2015, attended The Azule Residency in Hot Springs, North Carolina. Recently, she has received her Masters of Fine Art at Clemson University and was the recipient of Clemson University’s Art Departments Research Scholarship. King now resides in South Carolina working as a freelance artist.
